Prof. Ante Simonic, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, paid a visit to Peking University Health Science Center on September, 22^nd, 2017. The delegation also includes Rita Zhao,Secretary General of Croatia-China Friendship Association and Prof. Tomislav Rukavina, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka.

Prof. Liping Duan, Deputy Director of PKUHSC; Prof. Qiudan Sun, Director of the Office of International Cooperation; and Prof. Zhizhong Ma, Deputy Director in Department of Combined Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, School of Basic Medical Sciencemet with the delegation. Prof. Duan congratulated Prof. Simonic for his receiving Chinese Government Friendship Award. Then, Prof. Simonic made a brief speech on the cooperation between China and Croatia in health science and pointed out that this meeting will focus on how to build European Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Rijeka with support from PKUHSC. After introductions to both institutions and Combined Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, participants from both sides shared their thoughts on the cooperation in Combined Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. In addition, participants discussed the potential collaboration field and forms, including student exchange program, visiting scholar program, TCM courses in University of Rijeka and academic cooperation in public health, immunology and epigenetics etc.
