The delegation of PUHSC headed by Prof. Qimin ZHAN, the President of PUHSC, visited the University of Michigan and attended the Sixth Annual Symposium on PUHSC-UMHS Joint Institute for Translational and Clinical Research from Oct.12-14, 2016.

The delegation members include Prof. Liping DUAN, Prof. Weimin WANG, Vice President of PUHSC, Prof. Weigang Fang, Director of Peking University Clinical Research Institute, Prof. Qiudan SUN, Director of Office of International Cooperation, Dr. Ruqun SHEN, Director of Office of Scientific Research and almost 70 physician scientists from schools and affiliated hospitals.

This year's symposium, which took place primarily at the Rackham School for Graduate Studies from Oct. 12-14. The symposium featured keynote speeches from President Qimin ZHAN and UMHS Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs and U-M Medical School Dean Marschall Runge. Besides, the symposium also included hospital and medical campus tours, as well as satellite meetings at the North Campus Research Center, among other places. There were individual partner meetings, group meetings around distinct illness areas and panel discussions.

In six short years since its launch, the PUHSC-UMHS JI has grown to include more than 30 ongoing research projects, each led by a PI from both institutions, across a number of fields, including liver, pulmonary, renal, cardiovascular and other diseases.
