Stomatology (Five-year program, taught in Chinese)

The program provides students with general education, basic medical sciences education, stomatological specialty education and clinical practice, as well as medical humanities education.

The program aims at cultivating graduates in stomatology with solid medical knowledge and basic clinical skills. Meanwhile, we also provide a variety of science & art elective courses for students. The curriculum consists of three categories of courses: 1) the compulsory general education and basic medical courses, including Mathematics, Physics, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Histology & Embryology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Diagnostics, Medical Imaging, Internal Medicine, Surgery, etc. 2) the compulsory specialty courses and clinical practice, including Endodontics, Periodontology, Pediatric Dentistry, Preventive Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, etc. The clinical practice in stomatology lasts no less than 49 weeks. 3) the elective courses include a variety of courses concerning arts, science, medicine as well as sports; students must complete a minimum number of credits in elective courses before they can be awarded the degree.

Students start the stomatological specialty courses in the 4th year, and at the same time begin clinical practice in the affiliated/teaching hospitals of Peking University Health Science Center.

If the students pass all the compulsory and elective courses, as well as the graduation assessment, they will be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Medicine.

口腔医学（五年制，中文授课）

本专业主要涵盖通识教育课程、基础医学课程、口腔专业课程和口腔临床实习，以及医学人文课程等内容。  

本专业的目标是培养具有扎实医学理论知识和基本临床操作技能的口腔医学毕业生。同时，本专业也为学生提供丰富的选修课程。本专业课程主要包括三大类：（1）公共基础与医学基础必修课：如数学、物理、无机化学、有机化学、生物学、人体解剖学、组织胚胎学、生理学、生物化学、病理学、药理学、诊断学、医学影像学、内科学、外科学等。（2）口腔专业核心课程和临床实习：如牙体牙髓病学、牙周病学、儿童口腔医学、口腔预防医学、口腔颌面外科学、口腔修复学、口腔正畸学等；口腔临床实习不少于49周。（3）选修课：学生必须修完一定学分的选修课程，才能获得学位，课程内容涵盖文理、医学、体育以及其他广泛的领域。  

学生从第四年开始进入口腔医学专业课程的学习，同时在北京大学医学部附属医院或教学医院进行口腔临床实习。  

学生通过所有必修课和选修课的考试，并通过毕业考核，将获得医学学士学位。
