Dr Vytenis Andriukaitis will present his health policy priorities for the next years ahead, which revolve around the three objectives of “prevention”, “promotion” and “protection”. He will stress the need for a paradigm shift in the way we finance, organise and operate our health systems, with a strong focus on disease prevention and health promotion. Moreover, he will outline how the European Union responds to serious cross-border health threats, including the global threat of antimicrobial resistance. In this context, he will stress the need for strengthened collaboration on global health issues, including with major partners such as China.
